Mindful Eating Success Stories

It was a great experience working with Juanita. My goal in working with a dietitian was to eat more healthy food and to feel more confident in the choices I was making. I was looking for a healthy way to lose weight.

I felt very supported by Juanita as we worked together. She is a great coach.

As a result of working with Juanita, I have changed my shopping habits; am buying more vegetables. I have increased my activity - going to the gym five times a week. I am more conscious about what I eat and follow my hunger cues to guide me, and have begun to eat regular meals. I am able to move better and my clothes are fitting better.

I was unsure when I started as to what type of personality that I would find working with someone on weight loss. I was so glad to find out that Juanita was very easy to work with and has always considered how I feel about everything we discuss or try.

Katy's testimonial - what is it like to work with Juanita?

Before working with Juanita, I was very negative toward my body. I felt very tired and was less willing to be active. I had tried dieting (Advocare 24 day  challenge, cut out sweets and bread) but nothing worked because my knowledge was lacking.

Having knowledge about mindful eating has made me look at food for pleasure and nourishment. Before I ate to cover emotions/stress. Working with Juanita has helped me in the weight loss area because I am not constantly overeating.

I have changed in the two following areas since working with Juanita - to be more physically active and to eat healthier.

Before working with Juanita, I had the problem of overeating. This made me feel upset.

The things that have changed since working with Juanita are that I know when I am hungry. I am able to recognize when I am satisfied from eating and I stop eating.

I am able to control the portions I eat by using a smaller plate. I have begun to go to the gym to exercise.

Some of the things I liked in Juanita's approach as we worked together were:

  • The worksheets she shared were helpful

  • She listens and is very kind.
