How to improve your health with just 8 of these every day

I am amazed at the little changes that a person can make to have a huge positive impact on their overall health. For instance, walk or move for just 10 minutes at a time to increase activity. Make half your grains whole grains. And now the power of 8.

8 of these have more vitamin C than an orange. 8 is a good source of fiber. 8 of these has folate and potassium and a lot of phytochemicals in them as well. What is 8?

8 strawberries!

8 individual strawberries are only 45 calories.

Studies are showing that only 8 strawberries every day can help to prevent cancer.

People who eat strawberries regularly are 34% less likely to have heart attacks.

The vitamin C in strawberries helps your eye health. It helps to lower the risk for cataracts, promotes healthy eye blood vessels, and slows the progression of age-related macular degeneration.

Strawberries lower bad (LDL) cholesterol.

Ways to include strawberries every day without getting bored

Top your salad - Ingredients - Salad greens, grilled chicken, sliced almonds or walnuts, crumbled gorgonzola cheese, and 8 sliced strawberries. Drizzle lightly with balsamic vinegar dressing

Smoothie - 1/2 cup blended ice, 1 small banana, 8 strawberries, and 1/2 cup 1% milk

Topping for yogurt - 1/2 cup greek yogurt, 8 chopped or sliced strawberries, wheat germ

PB and strawberry rollup - 6 inch whole grain tortilla wrap, 2 tbsp natural PB, 8 sliced strawberries

Cottage cheese and strawberries - 1/2 cup cottage cheese, 8 sliced strawberries

These make me hungry for strawberries just writing about them.
